After a traditional, successful career in large Corporations, achieving the title of CIO, I ventured into entrepreneurship with the creation of three companies that operated simultaneously: consulting and selling products and services to advertising agencies, consulting and selling products and services to retailers, and professional image consulting. The recession of 2000, the dot com bust, and 9-11 created too much turmoil. We closed the technology businesses in 2002 and moved to our native land of California after 30 years in the wilderness of the Mid-West. Consulting and employment led eventually to learn about the horrendous world of unemployment for older workers.
