We are a new kind of mobile media company. We are producing the media content, and building the mobile software to distribute it in the form of a simple utility for your phone.
It is called Cooking Capsules because it includes everything you need to make a dish encapsulated into one useful unit.
Cooking Capsules has widespread appeal because it is for people who love to cook and people who don't. Many of us like to cook, but want to eliminate the hassle of planning.
It is also environmentally friendly since it eliminates the need for printed or written grocery lists and recipes. It even has a gps map feature, should you be looking for a market in a different neighborhood.

The people who are helping me make this vision happen! I dream of Cooking Capsules every day and every night, and the team has taken on my dream too. The overwhelmingly positive feedback I have received from Google employees, the Open Handset Alliance, friends, family and people from all over the world whom I've met online. Pretty much everyone I know will use it if they have it available to them. I am driven by my desire to use Cooking Capsules to make my own meals and effortlessly entertain friends and family. The huge potential of it drives me. The fact that I have created a company based on my own creative visions and the collective vision of the people who are contributing their expertise and hard work to the project. The feeling of excitement and gratitude I feel for this right product and the right time with the right bunch of people to make it happen.

Success:

Recently placing in the top 50 most promising mobile applications in the Google Android Developer's Challenge I entered with a collaborator (and hopefully placing in the top 10 next round with our expanded team). We won $25,000 from Google and are competing with the other 49 teams for more. Here is an excerpt from the e-mail from Google, letting us know that Cooking Capsules had won:
"During the past few weeks, 100+ judges around the world reviewed over 1,700 applications. They were extremely impressed with the diversity and the large number of high quality entries submitted. We're pleased to inform you that your entry is among the top 50 submissions and that you will be awarded $25,000 USD. Your application has demonstrated originality, indispensability, intuitiveness, and good use of the Android platform - which are all attributes that our judges looked for while evaluating submissions to the challenge."

If you feel passionately about your idea, and it is based on a solid business model, pursue it with your whole heart and build a strong team, because it is too big to do alone.

There are so many potential revenue generators! One of the most likely will be via sponsorship of the shows. We may look at product placement within the shows for products the hosts like to use anyway. We could charge for the application, we could give it away free but charge for each capsule (recipe), we could give the app and the capsules away for free and be entirely sponsorship based, we could offer a paid monthly subscription for premium content, we could offer partnership solutions to food and cooking related companies. The list goes on. I plan to research the options more once we have submitted to the second phase of the Challenge. It is sure to be one or more of the above approaches, and maybe more I haven't thought of.
